Book review

RTE broadcast in the Spring of 1994, a series of 14 Thomas David lectures as part of the Congress Centenary Celebrations. In addition to the Thomas Davis lectures, this official centenary volume includes over 100 pages of documentary material dealing with the history of trade unions over the last 100 years, including a lengthy section on Jim Larkin and the Dublin lock-out of 1913. This centenary miscellany also includes a large number of illustrations, as well as poetry and verse related to the trade union movement and its leaders. The contributors to the Thomas Davis lecture series are academics and writers and include: Dr Fergus D'Arcy, Dr Terry Cradden, Professor Mary Daly, Professor Brian Farrell, Donal Nevin, James Plunkett, Dr Mary Redmond and Professor Bill Roche.
